Student Device Distribution Timeline

The HP Chromebooks selected by Mayfield City Schools for the 1:1 initiative have a four-year life expectancy. Beginning in 2018, the district launched the program by distributing devices to students in grades 5–12 based on this lifecycle model.
Starting in the 2020–2021 school year, the program expanded to include all students in grades 2–4, ensuring broader access to technology across elementary levels.

The graphic below illustrates the current device rotation schedule for students within Mayfield City Schools. Beginning in the 2026 school year, first-grade students will receive new Chromebooks that will remain at school in classroom carts. After completing first grade, students will take their assigned devices home and continue to use them through fourth grade.
